About JessJessica Katzenmeyer is an activist and ride share driver, and has years of experience as a labor leader. Focusing on healthcare, Jess is running for Wisconsin State Assembly and believes that workers and families should not have to risk debt for life-saving hospital visits and medicine.
Jess knows what it is like to have to have to deal with the healthcare system. Last year she spent a week in the hospital after her home burned down. After facing an $80,000 bill she decided to run for office to help change the system so that it is about people instead of profits. Jess believes that no one should have to go bankrupt because of their medical expenses. Jess is the second transgender person to ever run for Wisconsin State Assembly and the first to run in Assembly District 15. As a transgender woman, she has a unique perspective of LGBT+ and women's rights in Wisconsin. Her valuable insight will help her champion the rights of these groups to the floor of the Assembly.
